I Like Trinidad And Tobago – International Men’s Day
Ironically, I’ve never been there. No doubt it’s a cool place because I do know that the country has a righteously fun carnivale. I am not praising the place for outrageous costumes and a Caribbean beat. I am praising the place because of International Men’s Day (link below), which is tomorrow, November 19.
International Men’s Day (wiki link below) was resurrected from obscurity by resident of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Jerome Teelucksingh, back in 1999. From there, this day of recognition has spread quietly to many different countries, including here in the United States. Even in Denmark – Roosh is laughing – men have formed a group to celebrate the day.
When you wake up tomorrow, know that there is indeed a day to recognize men. I’ll be tweeting tomorrow (@man_private) some bits of information about International Men’s Day and positive things about men in general. As a man, I salute other men for their accomplishments. Carry on!
And why shouldn’t we have a day to celebrate men? Quite sure we had a hand in nearly every human advancement.
No need to include “nearly”. Waste of electrons at best. Possible white kah-niggeting* at worst. :^)
Anyway, Int’l Men’s Day sounds… inadequate… esp. when considering the “every human advancement” angle. Really, an entire 13-week calendar Men’s Quarter would be only a token starting point and consciousness raiser.
OTOH… Awesome never takes (or needs) a holiday–it just launches another huge rocket into orbit, or beyond–MANtastic!
Plus, IMDay can’t really compete with Men’s Answer to Valentine’s Day, aka “Steak and a Blowjob Day” (March 14th), now can it? π
*hat tip to Monty Python, lulz.

As a Jamaican, I dislike being scooped by another Caribbean island when it comes to a great idea, or an international sensation. I have to give them credit, T&T did good with this one.
So, where do I sign up for my concubines? Or are they just delivered, is it a door to door thing?
Look on the bright side. I’m half-Bajan, the next island over, and I never got the memo on this. At least you have a bit of distance on your side.
Happy International Men’s Day, TPM.
Even when I was younger, I always liked the idea of a reciprocal Valentines’ Day. I like how the Japanese did it – with men getting gifts and confessing love for women on Valentine’s Day, and women making homemade chocolate or confections and confessing love for men on “White Day” (March 14th.)
Of course, as an adult, it’s become fairly obvious that a rare steak, a cold six-pack of his favorite IPA, and a blowjob is much preferred over homemade chocolate. Although I guess I could incorporate some chocolate…
Sounds great… but hold the steak! π π
PS: “White” Day… that’s a nice SFW way to put it. [wink]
