The Private Man

Attraction and dating information for all men

250,000 Total Page Views

With this post, my total traffic since starting this blog back in February will most likely reach over 250,000 page views and with over 200 total blog posts. I didn’t expect that kind of web traffic. Frankly, I didn’t know what to expect. I was aware of other blogs like Roosh and Roissy, Dalrock and Athol, Hooking Up Smart, A Voice For Men and how those blogs get lots of traffic as manifested through the voluminous comments. I never considered my voice as part of the illustrious mix.

I am not in that league as my subject matter sticks mostly to advice and support for guys simply trying to deal with the opposite sex on better terms. I am not as personal as Danny nor as politically active as Paul Elam. I am not really a player in the mold of some of the PUA guys who use Charisma rather ruthlessly. Ultimately, my blog’s traffic will plateau with a group of steady readers and commenters. I am seeing this this happening now.

The most important element of my efforts is discovering that the Manosphere is becoming increasingly more organized. I truly enjoy being part of this community where men can be honest and forthright about issues that affect them. There are fractious elements within the Manosphere and those will always exist. Yet it’s still a healthy, if nascent, community with tremendous potential.

It’s interesting that I have attracted few, if any, haters. Maybe it’s because I am naturally conciliatory and don’t seek negative drama. Perhaps it’s because I’m close to 50 years old and my libido doesn’t burn like lava in my psyche and so I am not driven to scoop up women at every waking moment and then incur the wrath of women. I won’t be banging girls in nightclub rest rooms (any more). To be honest, I gain more satisfaction from helping a person deal successfully with the opposite sex or provide good career advice to a younger man.

There has been another, unexpected bonus to creating this blog. I will be starting a new job (permanent, not contract) quite soon. I was hired because I knew something about WordPress, blogging, and web hosting. I would not have known these things without this blog.

For those who follow my blog in more detail, I am still working on my book, Dating 2.0. Dealing with a job search while still employed was a major distraction so I had to delay projects. As well, the class was postponed, too. But those projects will ultimately be completed. I’d rather be in front of a group of people giving a funny and educational presentation than be buried in some cubicle at a multinational tech company.

This blog will be transitioned to something else by February or March. I have laid the for that groundwork already. It will be a part-time business endeavor where I can dispense righteous Red Pill dating and relationship advice. Stay tuned.

In summary, I offer my sincere appreciation and gratitude to my readers and my commenters. I also say this to the evil patriarchy (see my blog roll). Should any of you find yourselves in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area. I will gladly buy you a beer or nine.

Final note – Johnny Milfquest is still a tosser and my dog is still ugly.

Congrats, PM. Well-deserved attention, I say. A corner of the manosphere for older guys was sorely needed when it comes to those of us, mostly post-divorce, who are trying to figure out dating 2.0. Sure, advice from other blogs is applicable, but learning tricks for picking up young girls in bars and clubs doesn’t really work well past 45 or so.

You’ve been a welcome voice. Good luck with your new projects.

Congratulations, PM. Here’s the mistake that some men and most women make: It’s easy to be humorous or sound eloquent when trashing people. It’s harder to give sober advice that people will actually take to heart and use to improve their lives. I think I relate to your blog because you come across as a little more seasoned, thoughtful and mature than some others in the Manosphere. Keep up the good work. I look forward to reading about your class.

  4. Nice. Congrats on the milestone.

    Stay up fucker.

  5. Congrats PM-here’s to th enext 250,000!

That’s awesome! Congrats on the new gig – getting paid for knowing something about WordPress sounds pretty sweet to me. I’m glad you will keep moving forward with the blog, though. Well done on the page views, I await your “renovation” with interest!

  10. 250,000 is very respectable indeed for the first year. Well done!

    • It helps that I don’t have a TV, wife, kids, car, mortgage… oh, but my dog is ugly.

      • PM you are a god!

I’ve often said my ideal crib would be the exact dimensions of a solitary prison cell .Unlike you, I’d have to have a tv (History, Military channels required).. Other than that, spot on. If I had my books,I’d lock the door Friday evening, open it Monday morning, hence to the office where I drive another stake into the heart of American capitalism, greedily sucking down the blood oozing forth like a large ravenous vampire bat, wearily counting down the hours to the weekend where I can indulge in my only avocation-HATING MY FELLOW AMERICANS!
Good on ya’ brother! May Allah forfend!

How’d you escape the mortgage? Better stop before I get mancrush and I haven’t got room for you and Pat Riley.
