The Private Man

Attraction and dating information for all men

Lurkers Of The World, Unite!

I did this exercise last year and it was quite successful. I’m going to up the stakes. I want 100 new commenters. You don’t have to say anything except the following:

1. Age
2. Gender
3. Location
4. How you found my blog

If you want to give compliments to my blog, I won’t say no. If you have suggestions, speak up. If you think I’m just an old windbag, get off my lawn. If you’re a hater, your comment won’t make it through moderation.

Until I get 100 new commenters, this post stays up. You regulars, stay out of this. This is between me and my lurkers.

Can’t remember… Bronan, or D&P, or AP or one of em’

Been following a bunch of manosphere blogs recently, trying to keep up with new posts, and work my way back through the archives. I’ve been more focused on day game recently and have found some good advice in your articles, such as doing errands alone. I always have better results rolling dolo.

As a few of these guys, U of Man, Alpha Persona, etc., are falling off, it’d be nice to see someone pick up the slack in the areas they would cover. It’s nice to have various resources from health, to sociology, women, communication, travel… Helps to become more rounded and not just a pick-up scam artist.

    Thanks!

It’s been too long for me to remember. I started out reading Roissy/Roosh/Rollo about a year and a half ago, and just began following the guys whose comments I found enjoyable or insightful. I’ve generally lurked up until now, simply because when I first found this little corner of the Internet, I didn’t really have much value to add to the conversation. Everyone I follow is so much wiser/more experienced. I still feel like a rookie, but I’ll try to better about throwing my two cents out there, even if it’s just to agree with something or express my gratitude for a certain post.

  25. A lady never divulges her age……ok so I am 31. I am a little further away…Leicestershire, England. I came across you, so to speak, from a comment I made on Tao of Dirt about motorcycles! It’s from Lavalife which is really popular in Canada. I was going to start a blog a few years ago about this topic but never got around to it. I’ll post some later.

I think that his contribution has made these “heretic” ideas about SMP and sexual equality more well known, but I’m not aware of any large movements yet. 🙂

Nope, though LDS guys need game. Moved out here recently, but before finding the red pill. Came for the jobs, lot of work here in IT. Hell several of my friends ended up following me. It’s not a bad place, but I randomly catch flak from coworkers about not being married and I routinely about my age as it’s getting “weird”. Few of the drawbacks are the young marriage age of lot of girls, LDS girls tend to get plump (blame baking), and the bar booze rules. Even pre red pill would try my game at uni bars which basically don’t exist here due to zoning laws.

Though LDS guys are so nice they don’t really provide any competition, but as a favor to a friend I’m not actively trying to defile LDS girls.

It’s always good to get different perspectives. I like yours because you sound about my age and with a similar personality type (quietly confident, f’ckd if you’re going to be anyone’s dancing monkey)

You and a few others prove what I knew already, you do not need to be super extrovert to swoop. Quiet confidence, frame and attitude are what counts. I kinda, sorta internalised this over the years, but it’s always good to see it laid out in black and white, which helps to crystalise it.

49 yr. old female and her 21yr. old daughter from N. Carolina, we found you through other blogs.
I took what is now known as the “red pill” over ten years ago. When my daughter wanted to better understand the current male perspective and why she isn’t meeting the type of man/men she is looking for, one like her father, we went looking for answers.
You site has been helpful for her. Thanks.

    • The most hopeful comment yet… thanks so much.

      • Anonymous on said:

No, thank you. Your blog is helpful and we haven’t been treated harshly when we dare ask a question, unlike some sites, one in which I was really surprised at the attitude I encountered considering the poignant header. The anger turned my daughter off for a while, but drove me to find out what was behind it so I started searching. Allow me to tell you and your gentlemen readers out there that all is not lost on American women. Some are getting it, look for them and reward their good behavior.
I think intutitively young women are starting to wake up and realise the teachings of the previous genereation were false and while I can not see us returning to the days of pre-feminism, I do see the Manosphere hearlding a time of accountablity for women that will change their current mode of thinking because in the end hetro women innately want to be in a relationship with men and will do what is required to be done to make that happen. Remember you hold the keys gentlmen, now jingle them where the ladies can see and hear them.
Everytime you get a chance to expouse red pill wisdom do. I do, sometimes it has to be ever so subtle as I live in a very liberal town and have to be careful. My daughter does in her actions and words at college and has seen two of her five roommates change for the better. I hope your readers will do the same. Change is coming but it is slow as always.

    41, female, Texas.

I’ve been lurking on your blog and other red pill blogs for about 6 months. I can’t recall the specifics, but I stumbled across your blog when I began searching for dating advice for women from a male perspective. Wait – now that I’m really thinking about it, I probably linked to your site via Roissy’s.

Your writing has been tremendously helpful to me, though at times I find your style to be a bit too cynical and acerbic. I guess that’s the point, really – taking pills isn’t supposed to be fun 😉 Your advice to women about focusing on a man’s good qualities using your women’s exercise is pure gold. I also found your online profile writing advice to be useful as well.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and talent with all of us.

  112. 28, female, Indiana. About 6 months ago my husband suggested my brother start reading your blog (I think he found you through Dalrock) so I got on to see exactly what he was trying to corrupt my baby brother with, though it turns out it really was something my brother needed to read. He’s a great guy but waaaay too nice, and he dates too many entitled princesses. I found your blog entertaining and I like what you have to say so I read when I have free time.

I found the Manosphere through Hawaiian libertarian’s Paleo Baby post about a year ago, and it has been very enlightening. I immediately quit the shit-tests, quit nagging, grew my hair out, and adopted the “never say no” stance. I quit leading and making the decisions. I had already been mostly Paleo for over a year, so I already looked awesome 🙂

28, female, Kenya. I found my way here after a search for good profile advice. Followed the breadcrumbs and here I am. Your topics resonate even back here where most of the young guys in town are settling to be Betas and bowing to women. Its frustrating. I am from the last city-kids generation which saw our fathers lead the family. Now there’s a new breed of women in town telling us its okay to take over. It wasn’t broken, why fix it? Am spreading word of this blog to all my friends. Thank you.

Thanks so much! A “franny” is a sponge-mom-sweatpants, which of course I’m not 😉 Love the blog, read all the archives and spread the wisdom of the manosphere here where things tend to be a bit backwards. I have a 22yo son and do not intend for him to get stuck in the beta/blue pill lifestyle, helllll no! He’s getting it, no more special snowflakes for him!

My eyes started opening after my heart was broken.
Weirdly, the woman who broke my heart was not my ex-wife (I was very lucky in my escape there).

Hard to say exactly how I found you… It was so long ago now. If memory serves right, it was from one of Athol Kay’s posts that linked here. Either that, or somewhere between Chateau Heartiste, Real Assanova (do I ever miss his blog) and Badger’s Hut.

Whatever it was, I’ve been a devoted reader ever since, and the journey has been eye-opening. So thank you!

Can’t remember how I got here, but it started when I found out my wife was cheating on me with her “first love” from 34 years ago – after 32 years of marriage. She found him on Facebook, and I went online looking for advice – first at Talking About Marriage forums.

I found you, Badger, Dalrock, Athol, Ian Ironwood and the late lamented Ferd and UMan after a happenstance look at an article about Manosphere blogs set me googling to see if you all had any answer to the question of why so many relationships (like mine) are so totally unsatisfactory.

  145. 29, male, Porto Alegre – Brazil

I did post some comments before, but just a few… I consider myself a lurker. Most of the times, when I think of posting something, someone already posted similar thoughts… as I am lazy, then I just don’t do it. 🙂

Found you after a friend had some relationship problems and I ended up in a “hardcore” MRM (if they could be really called that) forum… I could see that they had something going on, I could fell the “truth” behind it, but they were too blinded by rage to see it.

After that, searching lead me to MMSL, Badger, Ian, and yourself. It is amazing how the red pill changes your view about almost everything around. I am engaged to a very good woman right now, but I do sometimes feel like I could have enjoyed my single life a lot better had I found this knowledge before I entered this relationship…. I was a very shy young man that doubted of his own skills and “handsomeness” too much, even while inserted into a context where I had a lot of advantage. Pretty dumb, right? I expected to teach all this to my future son (if I ever have one) while he can still enjoy it. Right now, I am using all the insights I find in the manosphere to improve my current relationship.

Anyway, your blog is one that I can send to blue pill friends safely, without being afraid to scare ’em off. Keep up the good work, thank you.

  146. 18, F, The Universe,

Definitely found your blog through HUS 🙂 Keep up the good work, PM. Thanks for all the advice.
