A Dating Exercise For Men

The dating exercise for women (link below) went quite well. While doing some research about women and their emotions – a vastly complicated topic – I came up with a nice dating exercise for men. The purpose of this exercise is for men to be better able to “read” a woman’s emotions quickly and accurately, an extremely valuable skill for the man who is dating.

The exercise is fairly simple. Each time you interact with a woman – even just by seeing her – try to determine her current emotion state. Is she happy? Is she showing concern? Are her words telling the world that she is mildly upset? This requires you to be aware of many things, especially body language (link below). The challenge is to be subtle about it so you don’t appear awkward in your efforts. Finally, you’re not allowed to ask her what she’s feeling. You have to figure it out on your own.

You may be wrong in your assessment of her current emotion. That’s OK because your awareness of women’s emotions in general is going to increase enormously. With that increased awareness will come more accuracy when assessing her emotions. When you can do this quickly, subtly, and accurately, you can adjust your own communication style should you be directly interacting with a woman, like on a date. Worried about your social skills? There’s a website for that (link below)

A man who is clueless about a woman’s current emotional state will not get the second date. Worse, that man will not do well in a medium to long-term relationship. A man with solid Charisma will be able to use his accurate perception of a woman’s emotions and then apply his solid communication skills to nicely influence those emotions to help him achieve his relationship goals.

Good exercise Private Man. I did a post a while back which included a paragraph from a book on how you can better read people:

Read someone’s mood: Pick someone – anyone. It doesn’t matter. Someone on a bus, in a shop, anywhere – someone you’re not talking to. Do what they’re doing, physically. If they lean back in their chair, do the same. Or if they cross their legs, or fold their arms. Or scratch their nose. Or scratch their chin. Or stare into space. Or frown. Or smile. Or if they’re walking in a certain way, or at a certain speed. Do the same. Check out how your own mood changes. Now you know more about how they’re feeling.

Still, you have to admit, the “reading” of wimminz is much easier after she’s had her third mimosa… declining subtlety is your friend. ;^)

I performed this exercise during my daily commute last night and again this morning. After carefully tallying the results, I have determined that the emotional state of 80% to 90% of the women I observed was “self-absorbed”.

This was the percentage of women fixated on their cell phones…

I used to hate people like that, but I got a new phone recently and I just found out that there are RPG’s for Droid. So…guess what I’m gonna be doing on my phone?

      lulz.

What would you say if the grown woman had a 3DS or PSVita and was playing it?

Since this was the New York City subway system, a woman playing with her PSVita probably risks an indecent exposure charge…

Good grief, I’m out of touch with technology. What are 3DS are PSVita?

The Nintendo 3DS is a handheld gaming console which you can play 3D games on. It is amazing. It also has internet, apps, music, 3D photos (it takes pictures!), and I think it can also take video. I’m not listing all its features because I mostly just play games on it. You can play portable MMO games on it as well (like Heroes of Ruin!) with friends through the internet. You can also stream 3D netflix on it.

The PlayStation Vita is the “sequel” to the Playstation Portable. It has a quadcore engine, better graphics, and significantly more RAM than the 3DS. It also has 2 joysticks vs the 3DS’s single gyroscope. A lot of hardcore gamer nerds thought sony was going to destroy nintendo (because nintendo had to sell the 3DS at a loss because it wasn’t selling at the original price) but completely underestimate Nintendo’s diverse fanbase with a lot of games that fans have loved for ages (Zelda, Mario, etc.). Also the Vita’s big new feature is that it has a touchscreen, which Nintendo’s been doing for ages, and now nintendo came out with 3D, which might be a gimmick, but is pretty darn original.

So obviously, Nintendo won hands down.

        I read too much IGN.

I stand corrected. A woman playing with an 3DS or PSVita on the NYC subway will likely be knocked down while they are stolen. In which case, I’d judge their emotional state as “bummed.”

i grew up with a BPD mother so i can read emotional states and facial expressions from a mile off, its the one good thing that has emerged from that experience,

I empathize. Helluva way to learn to read women.
